Senior Wellness Packages: As our pets get older, it is important to ensure their health is not compromised by underlying issues that often accompany the aging process. Our Senior Wellness packages are an excellent way to stay informed on your pets state of health.  Included in the package are 2 physical exams, blood, urine, fecal and heartworms tests, 3 radiographic study's of the abdomen, chest and pelvic regions. Packages are available to pets age 7 years and older.

Micro chipping: We have the ability to implant microchips for permanent pet identification. These microchips are also helpful in reuniting lost pets with their owners.

Nutrition: The Doctor and Staff at ACVH can help you decide the best nutritional program for your pet depending upon their age, activity level, or to address chronic illness issues. We stock prescription and maintenance diets, and can order a large variety of foods for your pet’s needs.

Digital Radiology: We have the most advanced digital X-Ray machine to address the imaging needs of our patients. This system gives us the ability to get radiographs very quickly without using hazardous chemicals for film processing. We can use these images to easily get a consultation with a board certified Radiologist if needed, or burn a CD for you to take home.

In-House LaboratoryAmerican Canyon Veterinary Hospital is fully equipped with state of the art blood analysis machines. We use these machines to determine the ability of an apparently healthy animal to safely undergo anesthesia or to rapidly assess the condition of a critically ill patient to provide appropriate therapy. We also have the ability to check your pet's heartworm or FIV/FeLV status in the hospital within a few minutes.

Ultrasound: Some diseases are much better diagnosed with the use of ultrasound technology either by itself or in addition to radiographs. If your pet needs this diagnostic modality we can call in a highly experienced ultrasonographer within 24 hours to do the procedure.

Anesthesia and Monitoring: To ensure the safety and comfort of your pets, we use a variety of anesthesia protocols specifically designed to support them during surgical procedures. We highly recommend doing a blood panel before any procedure, and in some instances, it may be required. All procedures performed at ACVH are monitored for respiration, oxygen saturation, ECG, blood pressure and temperature by a qualified Technician. We also recommend, in some cases require, that pets receive IV fluids to maintain blood pressure and hydration.

Pain Control: The comfort of our patients is one of our highest concerns. We understand that pets feel pain just as people do. A pain management protocol will be developed exclusively for your pet with regard to discomfort during, and after, surgical procedures. We may administer a variety of medications, either alone, or in combination with others to manage pain specific to your pet’s specific health needs.

Dental Services:At ACVH, we recognize the importance of healthy teeth and gums. Dental health is an important quality of life factor for both pets and their owners. Presence of periodontal disease leads to oral pain and bad breath (halitosis).

Dr. Singh and his staff heartily promote healthy gums and teeth through nutrition, dental sealants, brushing and cleanings as needed. Dental procedures are performed under general anesthesia. Teeth are scaled, polished and a sealant is offered to slow or prevent quick buildup of tartar.
